Our November meeting was a competition night featuring the last round of the open category for 2017 and the set theme of water.
The group awards the Peter Saul Cup for the winner of the open league.
The judge for the evening was Graham Heywood EFIAPp FBPE: a native of Bolton, resident of Duston and member of Little Brington.
Graham gave a very sympathetic and sometimes humorous commentary on our images. In the water theme he encouraged us to try slower shutter speeds to see what effect we could get – even if it meant getting someone else to carry the tripod to a remote location!
In the end though, the winning water entry was an observation Ron Wykes made when he looked up at his umbrella.
In the open the honours on the night went to an early morning shot of geese crossing the moon.
However Ron Wykes, the current holder of the Peter Saul Cup, already had an unassailable lead in this year’s open competition and so retains the cup for a second year. Many congratulation to Ron.
