“The Great Outdoors” print competition

Spratton Town and Land Charity Annual Show

Photography Competition: “The Great OutDoors”

St Andrews Church, Spratton 6 September 2014

The Spratton Town and Land Charity has decided to include a photography class into their annual show.

The theme of the competition is “The Great Outdoors”.  This will be a print competition: prints may be of any size, mounted or un-mounted.

There will be an adult and a junior (under 18) section for the entry, to be judged at the show by Mr Brian Pere of Duston Camera Club on the 6th of September, 2014.

The judge will award first, second and third places in each category. First places will be eligible for consideration as “Best in Show”.

Entries must be provided to the venue, St. Andrews Church, Spratton, on the morning of the show, no later than 11am.

Alternatively, entries can be collected at the September meeting of SPG.

The competiion is open to all members of SPG or residents of Spratton.

Into the valley

Thanks to the local farmer who gave permission to cross his land, twelve members and one visitor (does that make a camera-toting dirty dozen?) enjoyed a photographic ramble into the Brampton Valley on Monday night for our July meeting.

While not blessed with the light seen on  other recent evenings there was enough to tempt the togs to try some creative landscapes.  Rain clouds could be seen on the horizon but none dampened our progress along the old railway.

There were some hopes of seeing a kingfisher by the stream but unfortunately he had packed up his rod for the night.

Everyone made it safely along to the Brampton Halt for some well-earned refreshment and some even burst into song!
